God encourages His people with his written word, the Bible.  Only those who have a desire to know God at the present time are encouraged by the promises contained in his book.   “Blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.” Matt 13:16  The remainder of the world (those living and those who have ever lived) will have their opportunity to be blessed and encouraged by Jehovah at a future time.

The scriptures are full of encouragement from Jehovah.  Here is a small sample:

“My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”  Exodus 33:14 Peace!

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go” Psalm 32:8 Teach!

“Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him. For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13,14 Mercy!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust!

“So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11  Truth!

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him.” Luke 11:13  Gifts!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. “  Romans 8:28  Faith!

“And I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty”.  2 Corinthians 6:18   Family!

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Tim 1:7  Courage, Love, Reason!

“They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness….it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.  Hebrews 12:9,10,11  Discipline!

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” 1Peter 3:12  Listening!

From these scriptures, we can model ourselves as parents and behave as God behaves toward us.  We can encourage our children to hope in the Lord since the Lord is able to provide love and support long after we are gone.   There are  scriptures that provide hope for the future which we can share with them.  Incorporating God’s principles to lead a righteous and just life will help our children to learn trust, love, patience, and hope for life everlasting!
