Our deepest sympathies are with you. Health is so precious and it’s so very difficult to experience the loss of good health.

Have you fully given your life to God? When one devotes their life entirely to God, it is like saying as Jesus had said in Luke 22:42 “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done”. As God’s children our goal is to maintain constant trust and faith in our Heavenly Father. We must be submissive, always confident of His love for us and His care. We trust that He is aware of all that we go through. At different times in life, and perhaps as we face the end of our life, which we all must face at some point, this absolute trust is tested. Can we fully submit? Can we fully trust? It becomes our great opportunity to demonstrate our confidence in Him, and we find joy when we rest, showing Him our complete confidence.

The facts of scripture are that the consecrated disciples of Jesus never benefited in matters of health just because they had become his followers. Even when we look at Jesus’ own earthly life, from his birth we recall there was no room for his mother at the inn. This well beloved son of God was born in a stable. We may wonder at that, why didn’t God make sure that provisions for a safe and protected environment were available for His beloved son and His devoted handmaid, Mary? At times it is not for us to question, but to accept that God’s wisdom is always present. Again, when the apostle Paul went through so many hardships, beatings, and illness, he never looked to God for miraculous deliverance from these perils, but used these opportunities to show his submissive faith and trust in God. 2 Corinthians 11:23-28.

The scripture you call to mind in your question is in Isaiah 53:5 “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (NIV) This is a wonderful verse and chapter as it describes Jesus willingness to suffer so that we all can be healed, but the healing we receive now is by faith, that our sins handed down to us through father Adam have been atoned for. The healing spoken of here is far more permanent than to be healed from an affliction of our health in any one incident, for surely another affliction will eventually follow. This healing spoken of here is complete. It is a total healing that will gain for us eternal life.

It may be that you will be healed completely, or it may be that you will not. What is the most important matter, if you have given your life to God, then it is for you to tell Him of your love and trust in Him, come whatever may. That you are happy that His will be done and not your own, and rest in that trust.
