Procrastination and laziness can be related. When people procrastinate their responsibilities, there is a tendency to choose pleasure (television, naps, etc.) over work. King Solomon addressed this issue in Proverbs 6:6-11 (NIV).

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!  It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,  yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.  How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest– and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”

However, procrastination can occur for other reasons as well. A person may feel overwhelmed, incapable, disorganized, and confused. Whatever the reason may be, God knows and understands. He is always there to help.

Philippians 2:13 (KJV), “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Pray to God for help to get started, to will or have the desire to approach the task. Then pray for help to do the work

God loves His children. He will help us again, and again, and again! Hebrews 4:16, “Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
