This is a prophecy relating to the Church, the Kingdom class, the Kingdom of Heaven in its embryonic state. It has been remarkably fulfilled in the history of the true Church of Christ from the days of John to the present. The "violent," those of the Ishmael and Esau disposition, have always bitterly opposed and persecuted the Lord's true people. They have seemingly triumphed over the Kingdom of Heaven.
Many Scriptures teach that this would be the condition of affairs in the world until the time would come when the Lord Jesus returns. However, at His second advent, Christ will use His great power and authority to establish His own righteous rule in the earth, overthrowing Satan's Empire and setting up the Kingdom of Heaven. The Apostle admonishes the Lord's people to be subject to the powers that be (Romans 13:1-7) the worldly governments and dominions. Yet soon the time is coming when the Lord Jesus and His joint-heirs will overturn and demolish this present, sinful, and selfish world order. Upon the ruins, God's Kingdom would be established, never to be removed.
Daniel 2:34-35, 44 (NKJV), 34 "You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image (symbolizing earthly empires) on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. 35 "Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone (God's kingdom) that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. … 44 "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."
