Long Summary
Detailed Summary of the Discourse: “We Are Witnessing Prophecy Unfold”
Theme Scripture and Focus:
– The discourse is centered on Colossians 4:2: *“Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving.”*
– Emphasis on “watching” as observing prophecy unfolding and doing so with gratitude despite world chaos.
– The importance of proper focus on prophecy as observers, not prophets.
Approach to Prophecy:
– Prophecies are often processes rather than single events, spanning many years or decades.
– Encouragement to stimulate one another to discern prophecy fulfillment by watching world events, especially those related to Israel.
– Israel is pivotal in prophecy; God’s “finger” is dealing with Israel, making it essential to watch changes, especially border shifts and miracles.
Historical Context of Israel and Prophecy:
– The inception of the modern nation of Israel began before 1948, including Jewish military training during WWII despite restrictions.
– The transition in US leadership from FDR (less supportive) to Truman (supportive of Jewish homeland) was significant.
– The 1947 UN partition vote allowed Jewish land purchase in Palestine, supported by Eastern European countries including Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the Soviets.
– WWII surplus weapons from Czechoslovakia equipped Jews for the 1948 war of independence.
– May 15, 1948: Israel declared independence, fulfilling Ezekiel 37:5-6 (Valley of Dry Bones prophecy):
*“Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live…”*
– This event marked a process of national restoration rather than a single moment.
1967 Six Day War and Miracles:
– Operation Focus: A decisive Israeli air campaign destroying 452 enemy planes with only 46 losses.
– The war resulted in Israel capturing the Golan Heights, Sinai, West Bank, and Jerusalem’s Old City, quadrupling its size.
– Numerous miracles reported, including enemy forces freezing in fear (e.g., Egyptian soldiers not firing) and desert mirages causing enemy retreats.
– Major General Eliezer Wiseman attributed success to “the finger of God.”
– Zechariah 12:6 referenced:
*“In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a hearth of fire among the wood…”*
– This war was a clear example of divine intervention fulfilling prophecy.
Post-1967 to Present Border Changes and Recognition:
– Israel’s borders have steadily expanded since 1947.
– 2018: President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, moving the US embassy there on May 14, coinciding with Israel’s Independence Day (Yom Hazmat).
– Zechariah 12:6 again cited regarding Jerusalem’s habitation and control.
Recent Conflicts (2023-2025):
– October 7, 2023: Hamas launched a large-scale terrorist attack on Israel involving kidnappings, rocket fire, and incursions.
– The global response was overwhelmingly supportive of Israel with condemnation of Hamas’s aggression.
– Israel responded quickly and decisively with military action including blockade and ground incursions into Gaza.
– April 13, 2024: Iran launched missile attacks on Israel, firing over 300 rockets; Israel’s missile defense was highly effective, only 3 got through, causing one injury.
– Israel’s measured response targeted Iranian supply lines and military assets in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza.
– Allies like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the US, and the UK provided intelligence and military support to Israel.
– Hezbollah’s aerial attack on April 23, 2024, failed; Israel successfully targeted Hezbollah leadership.
– Israel demonstrated military superiority despite multiple-front attacks.
– June 14, 2024: Israel and the US struck Iran’s nuclear facilities, severely damaging uranium enrichment and weapons-related sites.
– December 8, 2024: Fall of Assad regime in Syria; Israel quickly occupied territories beyond the Golan Heights, welcomed by some local Druze Christians.
– December 15, 2024: Israeli Knesset approved funding for new settlements in the Golan Heights area.
– These expansions align with Jeremiah 50:19 and Zechariah 10:10 prophecies about Israel’s territorial restoration.
Understanding Israel’s Borders and Settlements:
– Biblical borders from Numbers 34:1-12 and Ezekiel 47:13-20 provide context for Israel’s promised land.
– Today, Israel controls much of these areas except Lebanon.
– The West Bank is divided between Palestinian civil control and Israeli control; Israeli settlements continue expanding.
– July 7, 2025: The Israeli Knesset voted to annex parts of the West Bank and Jordan Valley, a controversial but consistent expansion of borders.
Regional and International Dynamics:
– March 15, 2025: US and UK attacked Houthi targets in Yemen due to drone attacks disrupting Red Sea shipping lanes, vital for global trade and Israel.
– This action reflects the biblical principle in Genesis 12:3:
*“I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee.”*
– September 21, 2025: UK recognized Palestine; with 19 European nations and allies recognizing Palestinian statehood, about 75% of world nations now recognize Palestine.
– Pro-Palestinian protests surged worldwide, including over 5,000 anti-Israel rallies in the US alone in 2024.
– This shift aligns with Zechariah 12:3 about Jerusalem being a “burdensome stone” and Jeremiah 30:14 on Israel’s allies deserting them.
Current Political Developments and Peace Efforts:
– November 18, 2025: Trump met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; Saudi Arabia expressed interest in joining the Abraham Accords once the Palestinian issue is resolved.
– This suggests a possible interim peace aligned with Jeremiah 6:14:
*“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.”*
– Arabs are not listed among nations attacking Israel in Armageddon, implying some future peace agreements.
Jewish Diaspora and Rising Antisemitism:
– Despite Israel’s establishment, the US still has a large Jewish population roughly equal to Israel’s.
– 2024 saw 9,354 antisemitic incidents in the US, an 900% increase over 10 years, with significant campus incidents.
– Synagogues require increased security; fear may increase Jewish aliyah (immigration to Israel).
Encouragement and Final Thoughts:
– The discourse stresses continual prayer, watching with thanksgiving, and rejoicing in prophecy fulfillment even amid distress.
– Matthew 13:16-17 is quoted:
*“Blessed are your eyes for they see… many prophets and righteous men have desired to see what you see…”*
– Fulfillment of prophecy confirms faith and brings us closer to God’s kingdom on earth.
– All glory and thanks are given to God.

Our title today is entitled we are Witnessing Prophecy Unfold in our theme scriptures, Colossians chapter 4, verse 2.
You know, as we look at prophecy, it requires that we have a proper focus, and I was especially touched by Colossians 4:2, where we read continue in prayer and watch the same with thanksgiving, and isn’t looking at prophecy really watching and seeing what’s happening? And I was interested in the reaction, doing it with thanksgiving. So, you know, as we think about the world today, the confusion, the, the chaos, the anxiety in the world, as we look at these prophecies fulfilled, we are going to look at them from the perspective of being thankful.
We’re seeing God’s plans and purposes being being fulfilled, and that’s a wonderful thing indeed.
You know, it’s important when we talk about prophecy that we acknowledge right up front we’re observers and not prophets. So in this talk today, I’m going to look at a number of prophecies really since the inception of the nation of Israel onto our current day and literally our current week, and we’re going to look at the potential for fulfillment in some of these, and I’ve taken some examples, you may have others, and that’s fine, and that’s really what we want to do, is stimulate one another to look at the events in the world and see if we see prophecies being fulfilled.
You know, in order to do this, we’re going to look at watching Israel. Israel is just ever so important to watch. The finger of God is dealing with Israel, and therefore that’s really going to be the focus of our thoughts today.
But it’s also important to know that only watchers will discern these prophecies being fulfilled and only for careful watchers, and so, you know, this is one of the reasons that we reason with each other, because we bring up these points that we see one individual might see something be fulfilled versus another, and so we have to watch and wait. You know, in Israel today, we, we are focusing in on looking for fulfillment of prophecy. We’re watching for especially changes in their borders.
This is something that’s very tangible and that actually we’ll spend a fair amount of time on today looking at these subtle shifts in their borders and how that’s fulfilling prophecy. We’ll look for miracles. You know, we all have stories about Israel and some of the miracles that have been seen. We’re going to review a couple of those to today as well, and we are observing that these are processes.
So, you know, we tend to think of prophecies as individual Events, and no doubt there are some prophetic elements that are events, but we’re really focusing in on this is these are often processes that may take many, many years or they may be very quick. So we’re going to look at that as well, and we have to keep in mind there are big miracles and there are many small miracles, and they require that we watch. You know, one of the things that has helped me get the Israeli perspective is There is a YouTuber called Avi that gives you the Jewish perspective of the events of the day.
And quite often they will discuss how this was, this or that situation that occurred in Israel was a miracle, and we don’t hear that in other places. So it’s important that we look in diverse media to find these events. You know, we’re all familiar with Israel in 1948, and of course that was the birth of the nation. But it began before that.
I know when we were in, in Poland, we went to Auschwitz and there’s, you know, part of that is a museum, and it talked about the training of the Jews at the end of World War II, but they weren’t allowed to fight. They thought that would be too controversial because of all that was going on in Germany. So the Jews were trained at the end of World War II, but weren’t allowed to fight.
Franklin Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945. He was not really a tremendous supporter of the Jewish cause. However, Harry Truman became president and he was a supporter of the. The Jews. In 1919 47, November 29, the UN had a vote on Palestine.
And it was a lot to allow the Jews to start to purchase land in that area as well. Now that vote, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the Soviets. We call this Eastern Europe now. But they voted in favor of having a homeland for the Jews, and it was interesting because the World War II surplus weapons from Czechoslovakia made their way into to the Jews in Israel.
And those are the weapons that they used for their liberation and creation of the nation. So we see in God’s big plan, this is, this is no accident. This is no coincidence. These things were, were very methodically laid out, and as I said, we, we discovered this history when we were in auschwitz.
Then in May 15, 1948, Israel declared their independence. This really fulfills this scripture in Ezekiel 37, 5 and 6. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones. Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live, and I will lay sinews upon you, and you will bring up flesh upon you and cover you with skin.
And I will put breath in you, and ye shall live and ye shall know that I am the Lord, and of course, this is the prophecy about the Valley of Dry Bones, and it shows. Once again, this is a not an event, but an entire process.
We’re going to put dates on specific events, but we realize these are processes even down to our day, and this is all a matter of circumstances, timings and a number of miracles. So we’re all familiar with the birth of the nation. We’re also Familiar with in 1967, the Six Day War and the miracles there, and we’re going to recount just a few of these.
Operation Focus remains one of the most successful air campaigns in military history. During the Six Day War, the Israeli Air Force destroyed 452 planes, losing just 46 of their own. After their stunning performance in Egypt, the Israeli Air Force finished the day in Jerusalem, bombing the Jordanian tanks that raced towards the city and providing air coverage for Israeli ground forces. This was really miraculous. You’re Talking about a 10 to 1 kill ratio.
Phenomenal. It was an epic example of cunning, dare and stealth. Of course we realize this was the Lord’s finger dealing with the Jews. A brilliant strategy that was flawlessly executed during the brief war. Israel won the Golan Heights from Syria, the Sinai from Egypt.
They later gave that back. The Judean and Sumerian west bank and Jerusalem’s Old City and holy sites from Jordan’s occupation. Now this is important. Israel quadrupled its size.
Although outmanned and outnumbered, the Israeli pilots realized that God’s supernatural intervention secured their victory. Pilot and IDF Major General Eliezer Wiseman was asked to explain how. How for three hours, the Israeli Air Force planes destroyed aircraft at one Egyptian airstrip after another. Yet the Egyptians did not radio to let their forces know about imminent air attacks.
He later said, it was the finger of God. It was the influence of God continuing. One recruit, one Israeli infantry recruit on patrol with one other soldier. So two soldiers reported an encounter with a truckload of 18 well armed Egyptian soldiers. The two Israelis, equipped with inadequate weapons, believe they faced certain death.
However, the Arabs looking pan at Strichten did not fire on them and complied immediately when the Israeli soldiers shouted hands up.
Later he asked an Egyptian sergeant why they didn’t shoot the Israeli soldiers. He replies, my arms froze. They became paralyzed. My whole body was paralyzed and I don’t know why. You know, this again is a miracle in this account as well.
The finger of God. Arabs not only gave into their fears and waved white flags of surrender. One tank commander explained that he gave up to a far smaller number of Jewish tanks because he saw a desert mirage that made him see hundreds of Israeli tanks and they didn’t have hundreds. Thus it should be no surprise that the secular newspaper carried this comment on its by one of its military correspondence. Even a non religious person must admit this war was fought with help from heaven, help from God.
So these are some of the particular accounts.
This reminds us of the scripture in Zechariah 12, 6, and I’m going to try to quote companion scriptures that at least this is one of the, one of the references in that day I will make the governors of Judah like the hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch in a sheath, and they shall devour the people round about on the right hand and on the left, and that’s exactly what they did. So what happened to their borders? Well, the original mandate, well, the original country in 1947 there was about 7% of the land was in Jewish hands.
Remember, they had the right to purchase land after the UN partitioned in 1947, you see that almost 55% of the partition was occupied by the Jewish state, and then when we look at what happened in 1967, you see it’s filling in. You see the trend, and this is a trend that we see over time. It wasn’t immediate and we think it’s still ongoing and we’ll demonstrate that as well. In 2018, in Israel, something happened.
President Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This was a radical, radical thing, and one of the reasons I think President Trump was put in power, you know, God puts, elevates one leader and pulls down another. But this was necessary to fulfill prophecy. So In February of 2018, the U.S. state Department announced a new American embassy in Israel.
So it was moving from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and this is a picture of that dedication effort. It occurred on May 14, 2018, and that day coincides with Yam Hazmat, which is Jewish fourth of July or Independence Day, and it was there that the consulate in Jerusalem became the embassy in Jerusalem.
This had tremendous symbolic, Symbolic significance because it really announced to the world it was that the Jews were now taking charge of the holy city, and remember in those earlier maps, they didn’t even have control of it, and now they were wrecked designating it as their capital and being recognized by a world power in the United States, and that reminds us of the scripture in Zechariah 12, 6, Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem, and we think that was the fulfillment of this, that once again now on the map, never to be moved, they were in charge of Jerusalem.
What happened in 2023, we’re going to look at some more contemporary things that have happened in Israel, even down to our day, and so this gets kind of interesting because now we’re talking about very current events. Those were major historical events past. But now we’re going to look at Israel in 2023, and of course we all realize what happened in, in 2023.
In October 7, 2023, Hamas conducted a terrorist attack on Israel, and it was horrendous. I mean, people, men, women and children were captured and slaughtered, many taken hostage. It was just, you know, it was announced that it was another Yom Kippur war that stunned Israel. There was tremendous onslaught as a result.
This Hamas war started on October 7, 2023, and it was interesting because Hamas said the attack was a necessary step. Now that’s kind of an interesting statement. It was a necessary step. Really what happens is Hamas was working with the soon with different factions, including Iran, who was coordinating it.
And they thought it was necessary step to counter what was happening in the Gaza Strip, which was the suppression of them becoming their own independent self governing area.
There were significant events in this conflict. Hamas invaded from Gaza and actually invaded Israeli territory, and that was fairly traumatic. There was over 350 rockets fired. There were kidnappings.
They took over military outposts and they used as they do in their own, in their own area in Gaza they use civilians, in this case Israeli civilians as a shield.
And the Israeli response was very measured and quick. They mobilized the military, they started bombings in Gaza. They fought on multiple fronts. So this was a coordinated attack, and there was fronts from Lebanon, there was fronts from Gaza and all these different areas where they tried to overwhelmed the Israelis, really.
The Israelis also put in force a blockade going into Gaza and invaded Gaza. There were about 1200 deaths and over 240 hostages. The world’s response was overwhelming, and this is important to note, it was overwhelming and it was overwhelmingly positive towards Israel. Obviously this was a clear incursion of their territory.
It was a violation of their citizens. It was kidnapping, it was murder, and so on and so forth, and even the UN condemned this attack by Gaza. But they also were very critical of Israel’s response, and this was the start.
Within a week there was a start of humanitarian protests against conditions in Gaza. Now this is a map of the Israeli conflict. It’s important that we note the premises because, you know, over time the news media spins things and we don’t want to be caught up in that spin. The facts are that Hamas started the war. Hamas could end the war at any time by surrendering and giving up the hostages.
They chose not to. Hamas, it was embedded with the Palestinians and as a result there was a lot of collateral damage, and this is really what started to sway world opinion. This, this strategy that they would embed themselves with the people and, you know, really caused this carnage, and it was a spectacle for the world to watch.
It was a fact that no other country wanted the Palestinians. Several in the past had tried to house the Palestinians, but their attempts were not successful, and it turned out they were kind of the pariah of the Arab world because they were very difficult to control and very radical. Now, Israel’s clearly stated purpose in this whole conflict was to destroy Hamas once and for all. They had occupied the Gaza Strip for a long time and had had carried out terrorist attacks.
But this was really throwing the glove down and Israel had to come at them full force. Now, Israel was under divine protection, and we’ll see that in some of the things that happen subsequently. Now remember that was in October of 23. Israel in 2024 was a continuation in the first major event that I’m going to highlight was the Iranian missile attack.
This is really when we transitioned from being the Hamas or to the Iranian war, and that was on April 13, 2024. That was just a tremendous, tremendous test on Israel and also its neighbors. You know, Iran attacked from, there was attack from Gaza. There was 300 rockets came in Hamas.
Well, Iran funds Hamas and Hezbollah and the Houthis as well. So all of these were direct attacks and they tried to do a coordinated response. Israel’s response was a miracle. Over over 300 rockets were shot at them from Iran. Only three got through.
That’s a phenomenal rate. There was only one injury. What this did though, was this mobilize a wide coalition and provided a measured response to Iran. Now this was interesting because it was a measured response. They didn’t immediately respond in kind.
They destroyed the supply lines and military bases in Iran and also in Lebanon and also in the Gaza and they took out 50% of the military targets in Lebanon. So Lebanon was involved as well, and they’re using this as an opportunity and justification to neutralize the the immediate threats. Now it was interesting because allies came to the support of Israel. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia both provided intelligence.
And the reason that was significant was these missiles, before they even got to in the area of Israel, had to cross Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia provided intelligence to the US and the UK and shared it with Israel, and then they supplemented air defense as well, and Jordan, their neighbor, shot down a number of the drones that were coming in. So we see that supporters were mobilized that were really.
It was really a bit of a surprise. The world response was also overwhelming. The US And British allies and the UN condemned Hamas and Israel. Now, this is interesting. They condemned Israel as well.
At least the UN did, and a significant event started on 4, 17, 25, the first college protests began that were pro Palestinians, and note that date, that was very early on. That was actually in 24, not in 25.
So here’s where the various camps are, and it’s known that Iran was the supporter of all of these terrorist cells in Hezbollah up in Lebanon, Hamas and the Gaza, and the Houthis down in Yemen. So we kind of put together a map so you’d see how the Israel really was surrounded on the left and on the right. Now, this attack was an Iranian blunder because Saudi Arabia and UAE provided intelligence that helped them preemptively strike on or take down this attack.
Iran in the process, temporarily exhausted their cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. So their defenses were significantly weakened after this attack because of the number of drones and missiles they had expended. The Houthis launched drone attacks from Yemen. Of course, that’s a tremendous difference. Distance, and most of it didn’t get through.
Israel destroyed Iranian radar and military sites throughout, not Iran, but throughout the region where they had been set up in Syria, in Lebanon and other places, and the Hezbollah tried an aerial attack on April 23rd. So that came down from Lebanon, and that was not successful as well, and then they, Israel had a coordinated attack. I probably should have put this in as a separate event, but they used the, the pagers that Hezbollah used in Lebanon to, to kill a number of their leadership and destroy a lot of their equipment.
And what this proved was to all in the region that Israel had military superiority. Now, Iran has been a terrorist sponsor for a long, long time, and it said that they spent over $16 billion in propping up Assad, that’s in Syria, but also there are other partners in Iraq and Yemen, and Yemen was of course, the Houthis. So you see the players that you had, Syria up above, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, there’s a cell within Iraq.
They didn’t seem to really get that involved, and then the Houthis down in Yemen. Now, there were some strategic misconceptions, and this is where the miracle comes in that Israel can’t repel attacks on multiple fronts, that supporters wouldn’t jump in and help them, and that Israel can’t sustain attacks from all sides at all times, and these things were proved to be false. So what this did, this attack from really Iran, it opened things up for a counterattack and it was only a matter of time.
But the counter attack was measured and it was planned carefully. It wasn’t immediate.
Now, in order to understand this dynamic with the Muslim world, we have to make a distinction here between the Sunni Muslims and the Shia Muslims, and what you’ll notice the vast majority of land area is Shia is Sunni Muslims and they are more moderate. They’re about 90% of the Muslim population. The Shia Muslims are the ones that are more radical, and you’ll see they make up about 10% of the Muslim population.
Now, the basic distinction between them was a bitter split between the two groups back in the 14 some 14 centuries ago. The divide originated over a dispute as to who should succeed the Prophet Muhammad and was, and that was the whole basis of their, their division and continues pretty much to today, and if you look, we circled where the terrorist cells came from and you’ll see that they came from Shia areas. So it’s important that we understand that the Sunni Muslims are less radical and less intent on driving Israel into the sea and more interested in, and now will, as we’ll see, in conducting economic and other activities.
It reminds us of the scripture in Micah 7:16. The nations shall see and be confounded at their might, all at all their might. They shall lay their head upon their mouth and their ears shall be deaf, and really this confusion and confounding is what we see over and over again with the establishment of the nation of Israel, all going all the way back to 1948.
Now, on June 14, 2024, another event that should have perked all of our minds was the destruction of Israel’s nuclear facilities. This was the response. So in March, Iran attacked Israel, and in June 24, there was a response, and it’s interesting to look at what the response was. So this was Israel and the United States struck and severely damaged Iran’s primarily primary uranium enhancement hub.
That was a tremendous blow, and Iran thought that they were in such deep bunkers that they couldn’t be touched, and Israel proved that wrong.
And then also there was an attack to destroy the facility used to convert uranium into metal, which is a step that you have to do after the enrichment in order to produce a warhead. So both of those facilities were damaged and also the fudlow or Fordo facility at the top. That top orange doubt was also severely damaged.
Now, not too much, not six months later, was the fall of Assad and Syria, and this occurred on December 8, 2024, and you might wonder, well, what was the significance of this?
On December 8, 2024, the Assad regime in Syria, which has always been a bane of Israel’s existence, fell. Now, the Israelis had an agreement with Assad. There was a demilitarized zone and they had an agreement that they wouldn’t enter that, but that was with Assad’s government. So after the fall of Assad, they moved very quickly to occupy that territory, and you see that with the dashes following the fall of the Ba’ath regime, Israel has intensified its airstrikes in Syria, advancing beyond the Golan Heights to occupy territories along the Lebanon, Lebanon, Syria border and approaching within 25 kilometers.
The map shows 20 of Damascus. So you see this major expansion of borders and this is a defensive posture. Now it was interesting because a lot of the Syrians in this area are Druid Christians and they actually welcomed Israel to come and occupy the area.
On December 15th. This is a week after Assad fell, the Israeli Knesset approved $11 million for Golan settlements. So they wasted no time. So this demilitarized zone could be occupied and, and settlements could be there. When Assad fell, Israel expanded their borders and settlements.
Remember, one of the things we said to pay particular attention to is anything that affects the borders of Israel. Now this was an interesting one because it’s very hard to find a map that showed where they have shifted. Yet this goes back to scripture that we have in Jeremiah 50:19, and here we read, and I will bring Israel again in to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon the mount of Ephraim and Gilead. Let’s show you where those regions are.
I’m going to put some circles here. So we got Carmel and Bashan. Baishan is Syria, and it’s this part that we’re talking about, and Gilead is part of Jordan, so we’ll see an atrium. We get into Israel, but also part of the West Bank.
So we’re told that the borders were going to expand again. Remember how we said that many of these things are processes and not in individual events, but we can see part of the process being fulfilled. On December 8, 2024, in Zechariah 10:10 it says, I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt and gather them out of Assyria and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon, and so yet another allusion to this expansion into these areas, and we see at least Bashan being expanded with this effort.
Now it’s important that we understand the, the borders of Israel as promised to Moses and Ezekiel, and these are the borders as promised, and we find this. We’ll. We’ll take away the map over with.
We find the Moses account in Numbers 34, verses 1 through 12, where it gives us a description, and those are the borders you see in yellow, and then we see the Ezekiel account in Ezekiel 47, 13 through 20, and you notice that they’re slightly different, but they’re very much similar, and the reason is that they use waypoints of their day to mark these borders.
Now, let me lay in the nation of Israel today. What you see is that they have taken a major portion of this, and the major area that’s not yet taken is Lebanon.
So in processes Syria and portions of the West Bank, and we’ll talk about that in a sec, and now let’s look at how Israel has expanded going back, and now you see the expansion even into the Golan Heights and taking that over and annexing it, and look at the West Bank.
You know, I traditionally had looked at the west bank because you see this on maps, like the 1967 map, where you had this block and Jerusalem just was kind of a little blob down in there, and there wasn’t that. You know, it was a big consolidated area. That’s not the way it is. Let’s blow up the West Bank.
And you see the orange areas are palest under Palestinian civil control, but, but the green is under Israeli and military and civil control, and these are what you call, I mean, they’re calling them all the time the settlements in the West Bank, and so this is what a lot of the controversy is. So it’s important that we understand how that’s laid out, and those settlements continue to expand.
And on July 7th, this is just the last few months, July 7th of this year, the Knesset voted to annex parts from the west bank and the Jordan Valley, and so we’re talking about this area here, parts of the west bank and along the Jordan Valley they’re going to annex. Well, this is the only block on the Israeli side of this that could be annexed. That’s on the Jordan Valley. So that’s a controversial move on their part.
And yet we saw from the prior slide how there’s a steady progression there. Let’s look at Israel in 2025 the Houthis were disrupting the shipping in the Red sea, and on March 15, 2025, there was an intervention. This shows you the area of the Red Sea, and all of the trade from Asia comes through the basically this quarter and the Suez Canal.
So you see here’s the shipping lanes and here’s Yemen, and here’s where the Houthis are. So you see the strategic problem with the Houthis sending drones and so forth. So both the US and the UK that should be UK Attacked Yemen, and the Houthis were disrupting travel and shipping in that corridor. They had attacked nearly 500 ships, and over five, over 100 of them had been hit, and four of them had been sunk. So this was a tremendous nuisance to shipping.
And this affected not only Europe, but also Israel because there’s the Gulf of Aqaba goes from the Red Sea right up to Israel’s port, and so this was a serious problem. Here you see all of the places that were hit and all the strongholds in Yemen. So on March 15, both the US and the UK began airstrikes against dozens of Houthi targets in Yemen. Important to note, it was the United States and uk so they were both working in unison to destroy them.
You know, this reminded me of this, the scripture and the prophecy, I will bless them that bless the and curse them that curseth thee, and this was really, we saw a partial fulfillment of that as well on March 15, 2025.
Now another thing has happened, and this now we’re getting much closer to today’s date, and I don’t know if you recognize these things when they were on the news, but a number of countries have recognized the Palestinian state, and on September 21st of this year, the UK recognized Palestine. The implications of that is Canada and India have the other former colonies, except for New Zealand also recognized. So there were 19 mostly European nations and allies that recognized Palestine.
This was a big deal. So right now, what we, if we look at it, there are about 145 nations in the world. So 75% of the world recognizes Palestine, and as a result, probably questions arise about Israel. So what we need to watch, because this is a process.
Once again, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and Korea are the major industrial nations that did not recognize Palestine, and I’ll put the caveat, yep, pro the. There’s been worldwide pro Palestinians protests. In the United States alone, there have been over 5,000 anti Israeli rallies in 2024. This does not include 2025.
So over 5,000 rallies and that’s amazing. It started with one in Columbia University, and so it’s spreading like wildfire, and as a result, world sentiments have changed in favor of the Palestinians and kind of against the Jews. So we need to be aware of that. So what we see is Israel is falling in popular opinion.
They have fewer allies and their support is decreasing over time. It reminds me of Zechariah 12, 3. So, and in that day, I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people. All that burn themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth will be gathered against it, and we’re not there yet, but we see that there is a tremendous decline in support for Israel.
Ultimately, we see Jeremiah 30:14 being fulfilled. All your lovers, your allies, have left you and do not care about you anymore, and so we kind of see that happening. Here’s an event that happened this week. November 18th.
Trump met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and one of the things they discussed, besides a tremendous economic deal, was Saudi Arabia has stated that they’re intending to sign on to the Abraham Accords once the Palestinian issue is resolved, and it’s in their best interest. Remember, they are Sunnis.
It’s in their best interest to have stable economic environment in the Middle east so that they can prosper. So the prince is interested in signing that. That was stated even before the October attack in 2023.
You know, Israel’s also seeking peace, and this reminded me the prophecy about Jeremiah 6:14, and we’ve seen this, you know, through all the peace processes that have occurred over the last 30 or 40 years. They have healed also the hurt of her daughter, of my people, slightly saying, peace, peace when there is no peace, and that’s really the dilemma that Israel finds themselves in today.
But eventually, we think there will be saying there’ll be peace and safety and then sudden destruction cometh upon them. So we, we are seeing that there will probably be an interim peace, and it’s important to note that the Arabs are not listed in those nations coming down on Israel in Armageddon. So there probably be some kind of arrangement, and this is where we need to watch and wait.
What’s happening in Israel in 2025 and beyond? Well, we think that the borders have to be enlarged still, and so keep your eyes on Syria, the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon.
We see another thing that’s happening. You know, we have a promise in Ezekiel that he would gather you up from all nations and bring you home to your land. Well, that has happened by and large, with one exception. The United States, and there’s roughly a parity between the number of Jews in Israel and in the United States.
But there are things happening, and if you have Jewish friends, you’ll be aware of this, that there are a number of incidents, again, anti Semitic incidents in the United States. This has to do with that shift in opinion. So there were 9354 antisemitic incidents in the US in 2024. That’s almost a 900% increase over the last 10 years, and there are almost 1700 antisemitic incidents on college camp campuses, which is 84%.
So almost a doubling since 2023. We don’t have the stats for 2025 yet. It’s interesting to note that these incidents occurred in all 50 states, and I don’t know if you’re aware, we have some Jewish friends that we talk to, and virtually all synagogues now have security guards and security systems because of this.
So there. This brings up the point that there’s increasing fear in the United States and that may cause the ALIA to increase as well. So watch for the start of increasing numbers of Jews from the U. S leaving and going to Israel. You know, from the world’s perspective, all of this stuff is a nightmare.
They’re in distress. From our perspective, we say, continue in prayer and watch the same with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, you know, it’s a wonderful thing when we see prophecy being fulfilled, even if it’s distressing to our flesh because it affirms our faith. In Matthews 13, 16, 17, we read, but blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears because they hear. I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people long to see what you see, but they didn’t see it.
And they long to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it. You know, this should be our attitude. We should be thankful when we see these prophecies, these affirmations of our faith being fulfilled. But it only occurs if we watch and wait. Watch, wait and rejoice in God’s promises coming true.
Because it means that we are getting closer to the full establishment of his kingdom on earth, the solution to all the world’s problems. We thank our Heavenly Father for from him and through him and to him are all things. To God be the glory forever. Amen.
