There are difficulties and limits in trying to understand in our finite minds our great God’s abilities and powers. We can only reason from the little information we have in the Bible about the spirit realm.

The scriptures give God humanlike qualities so we could somewhat comprehend His abilities.  “God is a spirit” (John 4:24) so we are not to think of him having literal eyes, ears or a literal throne. But he does have the power of knowing as represented by the eye or ear. (Psalms  94:9) “ He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?”

A few additional scriptures tell us of God’s ability to know.

Hebrews 4:13 “ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. “:

Proverbs 15:3  “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”

2 Chronicles 16:9 “ For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”

To assume that God is in every place, in every niche of space throughout the universe seems an absurdity, not taught in the Bible; to assume that God knows about every little tadpole, microbe or that he even takes knowledge of every act of each one of the human family when there are billions of us is beyond our understanding.

Just as in any earthly organization when a CEO has thousands under his supervision he would have vice presidents, directors and managers etc. to keep him informed on the day to day affairs of the organization. God’s knowledge of earthly affairs and our own interest are through angelic messengers. If God were personally present and aware, why would the scriptures tell us of angels having responsibility over us? Psalms 34:7 “ The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them.”  The angels have immediate access to God.  Matthew 18:10  “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”

Just because we don’t totally understand it, doesn’t mean it’s not possible. 200 years ago it would have been thought impossible to look inside the human body. X-rays, CAT scans, MRIs have all made this possible. Just because a dog can’t understand algebra doesn’t mean algebra doesn’t exist. The dog has limited brain capacity to understand.

God has an unlimited angels at his command to carry out his plans. “I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne… and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands” (Revelation 5:11) His interest in mankind is not diminished by using angels. He is ear is ever open to our desire for assistance. ”Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry” (Psalms 39:12)
