It may be hard to understand, but nobody made God. If there was an answer to “who made God,” the next logical question would be “then who made the entity that made God?” This could be a never-ending cycle.

Our understanding of the nature of God comes from scriptures like Isaiah 55:9-13, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Just as humans are on a higher life nature than the microscopic amoeba, we have to understand that God is on a much higher life nature than humans. We cannot fully comprehend what His divine nature is like. But looking at our universe He created shows the power and glory of His nature. Psalms 121:2, NIV says, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Hebrews (3:4, NIV) says, “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.”

Moses asked God to show himself, but God said “Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me and live” Exodus 33:20. God’s divine nature is of such immense glory that it outshines any light, and therefore cannot be viewed by humans. Similarly, humans cannot comprehend the dimensions of the divine nature and how it existed before the beginning of time.

Psalms 90:2, NIV says, “Before the mountains were born, or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” “Everlasting” means that God was always there. He has existed forever. He had no beginning and has no end. As imperfect human beings, our brains have a hard time understanding spiritual things.

God never changes, so we can always trust Him and rely on Him and His word. James 1:17, Contemporary English Translation says, “Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing.”

We also know that God has four main qualities: WISDOM, JUSTICE, LOVE, AND POWER. God is very wise. He sees all things and knows all things. He is “just,” or fair. He is loving and merciful. He is powerful and strong. Talking about God and all that He is, Isaiah 40:28, Contemporary English Version says, “Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The LORD is the eternal God, Creator of the earth. He never gets weary or tired; His wisdom cannot be measured.”

So, who made God? Nobody!  It’s difficult for our imperfect, human brains to understand, but He was always there, and He always will be. God has no beginning and has no end
