From a biblical perspective, if you are an American Jew, the Bible urges you to embrace your Jewish heritage. Watch to see how God is blessing the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Remember God’s special relationship with the people of Israel. Amos 3:2, “You only have I known of all the families of the earth…” Israel is the land, and the Jews are the people of the Bible according to God’s word. “Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers…” Deuteronomy 26:15.
The Bible goes so far as to urge all Jews, from every nation to return to Israel, the land of Promise, for special, everlasting blessings. Jeremiah 30:10, “Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, . . . and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.” (Also see Hosea 3:5.)
If you are a Christian American, or of any other faith, the Bible also sets out promises to those who bless and comfort Israel. Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Isaiah 62:1-3, “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness…And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory…Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD…”
God has blessings for those who will give their help and assistance to the people and the land of Israel. Isaiah 49:22, “Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations and set up My standard to the peoples; and they will bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.”
Yes, in the past, God dispersed the people of Israel, but now God is regathering them. When we study God’s word, we learn that God had predetermined a specific time to bless Israel. Now is the set time to favor Zion. Let us cooperate with God’s times and seasons. “Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come.” Psalm 102:13.
