All knowledge belongs to God. But God is not directing this present evil world. [See Galatians 1:4 (KJV), “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father…”] So, how is mankind getting so much knowledge?
Jesus is bringing knowledge to mankind in preparation for his kingdom on earth. When you consider how huge the work of the kingdom is – including the resurrection and teaching of all mankind – communication, travel, building, food production, etc., all need to be in place to help the billions returning from the grave. “At that time Michael (Jesus in glory) shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time…But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Daniel 12:1-2, 4 (NKJV).
Does Jesus specially choose each person to receive more knowledge? Obviously not. Stephen Hawking was an atheist. Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge…” Mr. Hawking didn’t even have the beginning of true knowledge. Yet Jesus is still generally directing this great increase of knowledge. Jesus is not necessarily directing which specific person will learn things.
In a similar manner, God gave Adam and Eve the joy of having children. However, God does not direct the birth of every single human being. He did not choose to bless the very brutal ruler, Genghis Khan, with hundreds of illegitimate children while kind, good-hearted couples remained infertile. God generally established the ability to procreate and left mankind to conceive billions of children.
Jesus began the great explosion of knowledge, and it is self-perpetuating. Please note: men presently cannot correctly use this knowledge. People are selfishly using knowledge to gain wealth, hurt people, hurt animals, and even destroy the earth. That’s why Jesus said, “unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved,” Matthew 24:22. Sinful people cannot manage all this knowledge. But in the kingdom, it will be different.
Christ will carefully direct people so that knowledge will be used to bless and not to hurt. God promises that “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea,” Isaiah 11:9. Christ will not permit any hurtful nor destructive acts and all shall know the LORD. Soon God “will make a man (every man) more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir,” Isaiah 13:12. Then knowledge will only be used to bless.
