Summary: The question of a person’s earthly age and appearance really does not apply to the spirit body. In the resurrection of the Church class, our divine bodies will look nothing like our earthly bodies. We cannot even comprehend what the divine body is like. As the Apostle John wrote, “… it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,” 1 John 3:2.
Discussion: The Apostle Paul explained that earthly bodies of flesh will not be in heaven. Spirit bodies are suited to heaven just like our natural bodies were created to live on earth. Similarly, people live on land, and our bodies are not suited to live underwater. No one’s natural body, whatever the age, will go to heaven.
1Corinthians 15:44, 50-51, 53 (NKJV), “44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body…50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed… 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
The resurrected Church of God will have the divine nature. “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature…” 2 Peter 1:3-4. In heaven, we will know and recognize each other by our characters and personalities, not by our bodies.
