In his prehuman life, Jesus had always been obedient, "daily his Father's delight." (Proverbs 8:30) But now he was to learn what it meant to be obedient under adverse conditions, and he proved his loyalty to the Father's will by complete obedience in spite of the opposition of his enemies. His sufferings did not come to him because he was a sinner, but as a test of loyalty. Philippians 2:8
