That which befalleth (happens to) the sons of man befalleth beasts: ... as the one dieth, so dieth the other .... All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Ecclesiasties 3:19

So far as this present life is concerned, man has no advantage over the animals. "All is vanity [unsatisfactory, Strongs]," and all die and return to dust. But man does have a great advantage over the animals because Jesus gave his life a ransom for all mankind, and so we are assured of an awakening from death. Ecclesiasties 9:10
