Jesus, as in his other miracles, gave sight to the blind man as evidence of God's healing power which will eventually be used for the blessing of all mankind. At present, seeing eyes picture opening the mind's eye, or the spiritual understanding of Jesus' followers. In the coming kingdom, they picture healing literal blindness, as well as opening the unseeing, spiritually blind eyes of all people. Ephesians 1:18
