God is not the author of pain, sickness, temptations and trials. He does not give us headaches. No, the cause of these problems is sin. God told Adam if he would sin by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, his body would begin to degenerate and would eventually die. (Genesis 2:17). 1 Corinthians 15:22 clearly states that all mankind is born in sin and will die. “As in Adam all die…”
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” 1 Peter 4:12, 13 (NIV)
Note that these scriptures do not state that God has caused the fiery ordeal that a person may be enduring. This is a simple statement that there should be no surprise that the ordeal is occurring, and that there is a reward for those who appropriately endure these trials with faith in Christ's ransom sacrifice.
God’s plan for those who are not Christians (the vast majority of people) includes their resurrections (John 5:28, 29), restorations back to human perfection (Isaiah 35), and the removal of all pain and sorrow. Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
