The answer is yes. God is all-knowing. He knows the end from the beginning. He can read our hearts and know the true motives for why we do the things we do. For example, God knew what Cain was planning to do before he did it, and counseled him against it. But out of jealousy, Cain killed his brother Abel. He received the consequences of his actions, which was to be exiled for the rest of his life. (Genesis 4:6-11)
Our heavenly Father, even though possessing all knowledge, may choose not to exercise that knowledge at the present time. So whatever one is thinking and then acts upon those thoughts, may not necessarily be dealt with by God at that moment. Yet in Christ’s kingdom, for which we are taught to pray, (Matthew 6:10) that will change. (Galatians 6:7)
“…the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts.” 1 Chronicles 28:9.
“but God knows your heart…” Luke 16:15.
“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is…,” Romans 8:27.
“The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 1 Corinthians 3:20.
Righteousness will be the standard in Christ’s earthly kingdom. Although mankind is now imperfect, all who are willing may come to Jesus.“And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17. This is the “free gift (which) came to all men,” Romans 5:18). These people will learn to embrace Christ’s righteous principles and begin the blessed walk on the highway of holiness which leads to life.
“And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away”. Isaiah 35:10
