I'm 62. I was saved in my twenties. Made a lot of mistakes and lived in and out of my Christian faith for many years. Now I'm anxious about completing my destiny that God had laid out for me. I've never been closer to Jesus than I am right now. God is the author and finisher of my faith. Will he finish what he started in me in this life or in heaven?

The Apostle Paul wrote, “If ye are Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise,” Galatians  Those who are begotten with the Holy Spirit are heirs of the Abrahamic promise: “…in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed,” Genesis 12:3. This teaches that there is the Abrahamic seed [...]

If soul is made of body and spirit, then how is it that Jesus said don't fear him that can kill the body but not the soul? Seems to me the body and soul are different things.

Matthew 10:28 (KJV), “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”The biblical definition of a soul is clearly stated in Genesis 2:7 (KJV), “And the LORD God formed man of the dust [...]

What does it mean in Ezekiel 33:5 when it says, "He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning, his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul."

Consider the prophet Ezekiel and his role in Israel. God had chosen Israel to be in relationship with Him. “You only have I known from all the families of the earth,” Amos 3:2.  Ezekiel was appointed a watchman over Israel when they were captive in Babylon. “Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman [...]

What is baptism?

Baptism is an outward symbol of a Christian’s lifelong devotion to God and following His word. With the help of someone else, a person is first safely lowered backward underwater, symbolizing giving up their own ways, or will, to follow God’s ways, or His will. The person is then immediately lifted back up out [...]

What is God's advice about how to develop patience and resilience?

The New Testament's Greek words translated as “patience” include the thoughts of cheerful endurance, waiting, perseverance, resilience and steadfastness. Romans 5:3-4 connects suffering to patience: “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces patience (endurance), and patience (endurance) produces character, and character produces hope.” Therefore, enduring and persevering through trials develops our characters. We are [...]

In what way does your knowledge of God's actions and character affect the way you pray?

What a great privilege we have to always have the ear of the supreme God who rules the universe. 1 Peter 3:12, “For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.”  We call him Father, a Father who truly cares for us with only our best interests [...]
