In the Bible, there are only a few appearances by holy angels. These angels came to people with special messages from God. Examples include angels sent to Abraham, Gideon, Daniel, Mary and the Apostle John. The content of these messages had information that would impact Israel, mankind, or large groups of people. They were not personal messages about a personal problem.

God gave us His word, the Bible, to guide and to teach us. We do not require individual instruction. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV), “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The fallen angels, also spirit beings, want to contradict the Bible and try to influence people that the dead are not really dead. Thus, the demons may appear in seances, through mediums, in the black arts, and through heathen practices which call to the spirit world. They may have comforting messages – but these are not from God. Remember, “Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV) The fallen angels are lying spirits. 1 Timothy 4:1 (NKJV), “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons…”

If a “spirit being” does appear to you, have nothing to do with it. James 4:7 (NKJV), “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
