Jesus taught his followers to focus their hearts and minds on God’s kingdom. He promised that our natural necessities will be over-ruled and provided by God.
Mathew 6:33, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Luke 10:25-28, “On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
Obedience to God’s righteous law of love will always produce blessings. The blessings may not be material things, but our characters will grow more Christ-like and we will have a closer relationship with our wonderful Heavenly Father.
Some think if they do good works and contribute money to their church that God will notice and reward them with natural blessings. But God has only promised to bless His spiritual children with spiritual blessings of peace, wisdom, the spirit of a sound mind, providential guidance, more Holy Spirit, love, etc.
