Jesus promised: “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? . . .  I will come back and take you to be with me…” John 14:1-3 NIV

Recorded in Matthew 16:24, Jesus taught that Christians are his footstep followers who deny themselves and faithfully take up their cross daily until they die. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Psa 116:15

These disciples, or “saints,” will be rewarded with a “room in God’s house.” Resurrected Christians will join the glorified Jesus to live forever in the Heavens with God.  “The LORD (God) has established His throne in the heavens…” Psa 103:19NIV “This is what the LORD (God) says: “Heaven is my throne. . .” Isa 66:1NIV “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest (Jesus), who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; . . . the throne of God.” Heb 8:1NIV & Heb 12:2NIV The throne is not to be understood as a literal throne; but symbolizes a place of power.

In the “first resurrection” (Rev 20:6), Christians will receive a spirit body in heaven. “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” 2 Pet 1:4 NLT

In contrast, all the rest of mankind who do not qualify as Christians will be given a home on Earth when they are resurrected.  This will happen during the Millennial Age when mankind is awakened from death in the second resurrection and they “learn righteousness”. “When your (God’s) judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.” Isa 26:9NIV “But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits (and “his brethren” Rom 8:29), after that those who are Christ’s at His coming (the rest of mankind during the Millennial Age).” 1 Cor 15:20- 23NASB  In the Millennial Kingdom; “…those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.   A little while, and the wicked will be no more; . . . But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.” Psa 37:9-11NIV
