Mary Magdalene was a Jewish woman who suffered from demon possession. There are only twelve verses in the Bible, specifically in the Gospels, where Mary Magdalene is mentioned by name. Mark 16:9 (KJV,) "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils." After His resurrection, the Lord greatly honored her devotion by appearing first to her.
The remaining verses also mention she had demon possession or else they simply state she was at a location. Other than this, we know little about her. However, we may be sure she was not a relative of Jesus nor did Jesus have an unholy relationship with her. Jesus was "…harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners," Hebrews 7:26 (KJV).
