Will there be marriage in heaven? No. Marriage was instituted by God so that men and women could be companions for each other and create families on earth. Shortly after creating man, God directed mankind to multiply and fill the earth (Gen. 1:28). Having two different sexes was necessary for that, but in heaven, there will be no need for procreation. The human family will have been created. Humankind will have filled the earth.
The differences between male and female will have no place in heaven. In fact, those baptized into Christ now are not even viewed as male or female, but rather are considered one in Christ Jesus, “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:27, 28. We are human now, but those striving to be followers of Christ are looking to a higher calling where there will one day no longer be differences between beings.
In heaven, the resurrected church will be spirit beings and will not be viewed as Jew, Gentile, male or female. There is no arrangement in God’s plan to have any spirit being to be male or female. Scripture tells us that “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God,” 1 Corinthians 15:50. Those in heaven will have changed and will be like Jesus is now in Heaven. “But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
Will there be women in heaven? No. There will also not be men. Those in heaven will be spirit beings, something different from humankind. Matthew 22:30, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”
