Actually, the Bible talks about three paths: the narrow way, the broad way, and the highway of holiness.
The Narrow Way leads to immortality in heaven. “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:14. This is the high calling to heaven. Only a little flock (Luke 12:32) will be called, chosen, and faithful (Revelation 17:14) as they follow in their Savior’s footsteps. 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NKJV), “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you…”
The Broad Way leads to death. Matthew 7:13 (NKJV), “…wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.” Death swallows all mankind. Going with the flow of our fallen flesh, the sinful world, and the evilness of Satan is that broad way. It is easy, but also painful. None can escape pain and suffering in this life.
The Highway of Holiness leads to perfect life on earth. Isaiah 35:8 (ASV), “And a highway shall be there (in the resurrection), and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it (unrepentant shall choose not to travel it); but it shall be for the redeemed (all mankind): the wayfaring men, yea fools, shall not err therein.” Jesus died for and redeemed all mankind from sin and death. During Christ’s 1,000-year reign on earth, all will be resurrected and taught righteousness. Jeremiah 31:34 (NIV), “‘No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, Know the LORD, because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,’ declares the LORD. ‘For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.’” Read the whole chapter of Isaiah 35 to see how wonderful it will be when this prophetic chapter is fulfilled.
