Christian character growth begins with faith. This is fundamental, and a wise man builds upon this strong foundation. "Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."  Hebrews 11:6.

In Proverbs 9:1 we read: "Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars.”  The 7 Pillars of Wisdom correspond to the 7 Graces of Christian character outlined in 2 Peter 1:5-7 which states: “Besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; and to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity."

These pillars are not only for beauty but for strength. 2 Peter 1:10 states, "If ye do these things ye shall never fall." Those who diligently seek and come to God are building this house of Wisdom and are forming a character like God.
