Revelation 5:6-14 is a symbolic picture of heaven and illustrates the prominence of our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. “…between the throne…I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain…I looked, and I heard around the throne and …the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!’ And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth…saying, ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!’…Amen!

Jesus will be magnified forever in heaven and on earth. Jesus was, is, and will always be our Lord and Savior. Colossians 1:18, “…in all things he might have the preeminence.”

Will the Holy Spirit (the power and influence of God) be active in heaven? It certainly will. Romans 5:5 teaches God’s love is given to us through the Holy Spirit, “…God has poured out his love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us.” Where God’s Spirit is in abundance, so is the spirit of love, joy, peace, wisdom, power, temperance, giftedness, understanding, etc. We will always need to abide in God’s will through the  power of His spirit.

Additionally, during Christ’s 1,000 year reign, the Holy Spirit and the Church will be inviting all mankind (who will be resurrected on earth) to life and godliness. This joyful time is beautifully described in Revelation 22. Verse 17 reads, “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, ‘Come.’ And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Acts 2:17 further assures us that all flesh will receive this great gift, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh…”

The amazing work of the Holy Spirit in the kingdom will be to transform fallen man into Christ likeness. “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.” Ezekiel 36:26, 27 (NLT)

In summary, Jesus will always have preeminence over all creation and will sit on the right hand of God forever. God’s wonderful spirit — his power and influence (not a person) —will continue to work, bless, and create both in heaven and on earth for eternity.
