We can be positive, thankful, and rejoicing only if our positiveness is based on God's word. "God cannot lie…" Titus 1:2. Therefore, let us look into God's word, the Bible, and base our positiveness on God's promises.
First, God loves us and sent Jesus to die for our sins. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. We positively know we can receive forgiveness for all of our sins and everlasting life through Jesus. What a relief!
Do we need to worry about things? No! “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7 (NLT).
However, there are times when even the most positive Christian will be discouraged. In Romans 7:24, the Apostle Paul declared, “Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” (NLT) Yes, struggling with sin is at times discouraging. But God is always there to help us! “So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to us us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, ISV)
Will God help us to succeed when we try to do His will? Yes! “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Philippians 2:13 (NIV).
Does God care about us when we are sad? Yes! God is “the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles…” 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 (NIV).
Do we need to worry about the billions of unsaved? No! Jesus will resurrect all during His second advent. (John 5:28,29) Then the willing of mankind will be healed from all sickness, sadness, sorrow, and pain (Revelation 21:4) and be taught God’s righteous law of love (Jeremiah 31:34,35). It will be a time of rejoicing!
Knowing God’s wonderful plan for us gives hope, joy, comfort, strength, and positiveness! I like that old saying, “God said it; I believe it; that’s good enough for me!”
