God is personal, purposeful, and concerned for His creation

Genesis 1:26, 27 teaches man was created in God’s own “image and likeness.” We are a fleshly expression of what God is in the spirit realm. If we love, plan, create, organize, remember, and reason, wouldn’t our creator have those same abilities? God invites us to think about these things! “Come…let us reason together says the Lord,” Isaiah 1:18.

Consider just one aspect of God’s character: the ability to plan and to accomplish a purpose. Isaiah 46:9-11 (NIV), “I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.’”

What is God’s purpose? Ephesians 1:9,10 (Weymouth), “He made known to us the secret of His will. And this is in harmony with God’s merciful purpose for the government of the world when the times are ripe for it–the purpose which He has cherished in His own mind of restoring the whole creation to find its one Head in Christ; yes, things in Heaven and things on earth…”

The Apostle Peter reminded us of “the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began,” Acts 3:21 (NKJV). This must be important if it was repeated by all the holy prophets.

God’s purpose is motivated by His love for mankind. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16,17)

God also personally cares for us. Jesus said, “even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore…” Matthew 10:30-31.

But if God cares, why are people suffering? Psalm 94:9 “He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye shall he not see?” God knows what is happening. Please download the free PDF: “Why God Permits Evil.”

These few words are inadequate to describe God as we will be learning about Him throughout eternity.
